West Metro extension from Matinkylä to Kivenlahti has proceeded to the test run phase. Test run’s purpose is to make sure that the provided signaling, automated train supervision system (ATS) and all auxiliary systems works seamlessly together before passenger traffic begins in 2023.

The railway station, located in the heart of Tallinn, is the main hub for all long-distance, international and local trains in Tallinn. The Balti jaam station is one of seven stations in total that have the renewed or set to have the renewed Mipro interlocking system during the multiyear project that started in 2018.
