Mipro Oy will carry out an upgrade of the automation system at the Mussalo wastewater treatment plant in Kotka for Kymen Vesi Oy. The upgrade project continues the long-standing collaboration between Kymen Vesi and Mipro. Mipro originally supplied and commissioned the plant’s current automation system in 2009, and the system has since been further developed over the years, including hardware and software upgrades to the control room system.
As part of this project, Mipro will modernise the plant’s process control hardware and implement the necessary software modifications related to the upgrade. The upgrade will ensure the reliable operation of the plant’s water treatment processes and minimise environmental impact.
“We are pleased to continue our cooperation with Kymen Vesi and to deliver this automation system upgrade. This marks a continuation of nearly two decades of successful collaboration,” says Aki Muinonen, Sales Manager at Mipro.
The project will be completed in June 2026.
