Mipro OCS – Object Controller System

Mipro Object Controller System (OCS) is a modular field control platform designed for modern railway signalling architectures. Acting as the interface between central signalling systems and trackside assets, the solution provides safe control, monitoring, and lifecycle management of field elements through standardised EULYNX interfaces.

The system enables railway infrastructure managers to transition from proprietary wayside architectures towards an open, interoperable, and future-ready signalling environment. By separating field control from central safety functions, Mipro OCS supports flexible system integration, simplified modernisation, and multi-vendor procurement models.

Two flexible system platforms enable highly adaptable implementations for both centralised and distributed system architectures. The modular software architecture allows multiple types of field elements to be controlled using the same hardware platform, providing flexibility across different deployment scenarios and infrastructure requirements.

Mipro OCS supports both centralised and distributed deployment models. Depending on the application, object controllers can be installed centrally or distributed closer to the trackside equipment. This flexibility enables the system architecture to be optimised according to infrastructure topology, operational requirements, availability targets, and modernisation needs.

Centralised Solution

The Mipro Multi-Type Object Controller System (MT-OCS) is designed primarily for centralised architectures. A single controller can control multiple field elements and different element types using the same hardware platform.

The same OCS can, for example, support both SCI-LS and SCI-IO interfaces simultaneously. The MT-OCS is based on a high-availability system platform in which critical components are redundant, supporting reliable operation in demanding railway environments.

When required by the customer or system architecture, the controller can also be configured as a dedicated single-type controller.

Distributed Solution

The Mipro Multi-Element Object Controller System is designed for both centralised and distributed architectures. Its compact deployment concept allows the controller to be installed close to trackside equipment, including in wayside cabinets.

The OCS provides a flexible solution for applications where a limited number of field elements need to be controlled locally. For example, a single controller can control one or two signals located between stations using the EULYNX SCI-LS interface.

Together, the MT-OCS and OCS platforms support a wide range of deployment scenarios—from highly centralised field control installations to distributed wayside architectures.

Connection Manager

The Mipro Connection Manager secures communication between Object Controllers and the interlocking system. It supports EULYNX-compliant SCI, SDI, SSI, and SMI interfaces and protects the communication using TLS encryption.

The Connection Manager is designed for applications requiring cybersecurity protection up to Security Level 3 (SL3), providing a secure communication foundation for modern, EULYNX-based signalling architectures.
