Metsä-Sairila’s MBR membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment plant: From ambition to reality with MISONET automation system

Mikkeli Waterworks’ new Metsä-Sairila wastewater treatment plant is one of the most modern in the world. A treatment plant based on MBR, membrane bioreactor technology, was built inside the bedrock. This minimised potential harm to the environment and at the same time provided good conditions for the process and maintenance. The treatment plant’s process automation and instrumentation project was started in the summer of 2019 and the plant was commissioned in May 2021. In addition to the wastewater treatment plant, Mipro’s MISONET automation system also included the Kenkäveronniemi inlet pumping station and the Salosaari measuring station.

Human and Organisational Factors (HOFs) as part of risk and safety management

The European Railway Agency, ERA, is the European Union’s agency responsible for promoting the harmonization of Europe’s railway systems. One of the main objectives of ERA is to improve railway safety and to develop safety culture. Mipro progresses in its climate targets by switching to emissions-free electricity

Switching to CO2-free electricity is a concrete action that supports climate goals. In energy co-operation with Lumme Energia, the green electricity delivered to Mipro Oy’s head office in Mikkeli is certified Nordic hydropower.

Mipro to renew the interlocking system at Joensuu marshalling yard in a major project for the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (FTIA)

Mipro has been selected in an open tender as the safety equipment provider for the FTIA’s Joensuu marshalling yard improvement project. The contract is worth EUR 7.4 million. The new safety equipment includes, among other things, the replacement of the marshalling yard interlocking system with a new one.

Fintraffic and Mipro Oy to an agreement of delivering traffic control system support services

Fintraffic Raide Oy and Mipro Oy have signed an agreement to provide maintenance and support services for traffic control systems. The agreement aims to ensure the right measures to secure the systems’ functionalities and quick and effective solutions during disruptions.

Mipro ‘s annual audit 2021

Mipro’s year 2021 began in full swing when DNV conducted our periodic audit on the 12-15 January 2021. This year, it was decided to extend the normally three-day evaluation as four days, as we have made significant updates to our quality management system during the year. This one extra day was therefore dedicated to going through the system.

Helsinki Metro Interlocking and ATS gets final approval from The Customer

The Helsinki Metro interlocking and ATS delivered by Mipro has passed the availability and reliability demonstration period and received final approval from The Customer. The final approval now granted concerns the original Helsinki metro section (East of Ruoholahti).

The signalling system modernization of the Kotka marshalling yard was successfully completed

Mipro has successfully renewed the existing signalling system at the Kotka marshalling yard. The project, which began in 2018, was completed in November 2020 and fully covered the modernization of Hovinsaari and Asema traffic locations.
